NOTE: BE SURE TO CHECK THE CANCELLATION POLICY OF THE MOTEL WHEN YOU MAKE RESERVATIONS. MANY MOTELS IN THE AREA HAVE FROM A 10 DAY TO 30 DAY CANCELLATION NOTICE POLICY. IF YOU HAVE TO CANCEL, YOU WILL STILL BE CHARGED IF YOU DO NOT MEET THE TIME LIMIT IN THEIR POLICY.
IMPORTANT!
This year, the Corps of Engineers will not let anyone reserve any of their campsites on the lakes edge in advance, so you may rent a campsite from them at the campground gate when you arrive. At last notice the campsites were $16.00 each per night, 2 tents per campsite. So far, there has always been plenty of camp sites available that time of year.
TMR has a few campsites of their own in front of the Restaurant (on grass with shade) that may be reserved, for the same rate.

All the motel rooms at TMR were reserved for 2009, but check with them, and get your name on the waiting list, as we usually have some emergency cancellations.
NOTE: We have reserved the Large Lodge at the South end of the Motel, which has 8 beds (most have their own rooms, bath both up and downstairs) and as of 8-13-09, we still have a couple of beds available, if you need a place to stay. Just give us a call at: 417-926-3075
OTHER AREA MOTELS CLOSE BY
The Apple Creek motel at: 417-273-4932, is the closest backup, just about a mile away (paved) across the bridge, clean but somewhat rustic.
The Biltmore, a good resort, is 4 miles away on paved road, phone 1-888-777-8964 for reservations. Several HSTA'ers have stayed here before. You can check out their website at:

Soak Up the Sun resort, (NOTE: THIS MOTEL HAS CLOSED, BUT MAY OPEN UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP BEFORE THE 2009 BS RALLY) is just a straight 1 mile away in Theodosia on a paved road, gas stations and grocery store are very close. This resort is completely remodeled, has a very nice pool.
If you have trouble finding a place to stay, please give us a call at 417-926-3075, and we'll do our best to find you a place.
If you have a room or cabin booked at TMR or elsewhere, and would like to share it to split the cost, let us know and we'll try to find you a room mate.
We sincerely hope you can make it, but if you have a reservation and know you can't be there for some reason, please let them know you need to cancel as soon as possible, so they won't charge your credit card, and someone else can have the room.
