Sondra (Isenburg) Mahoney - 2010

Life in the past 50 years holds so many wonderful memories.

After graduation from high school, I attended Southwest Baptist College (Jr. College) and completed my educational degree at S.M.S (Now M.S.U.) The next 6 years I taught forth graders at Cabool Elementary School. It was rewarding to move back to Mtn. Grove Elementary, where I was taught, to spend 24 years teaching children. I retired from teaching in 1994. Teaching is still in my blood; as I have volunteered in the first grade the past 8 years.

While I was teaching in Cabool, I met Tom, also a teacher, who would share with me the next 35 years of a blessed marriage. In 2001, a new experience came, when Tom passed away with Parkinson's disease.

A big part of my life has been filled with activities sharing with others about my best friend-Jesus. Church activities at the First Baptist Church, serving each summer as Camp Coordinator for 40 years plus and working in California, Florida, and Mississippi on mission trips. The last two were made after Hurricanes Ivan and Katrina.

These years would not have been complete without mentioning my supportive family and many friends. I enjoy spoiling my three nieces, one nephew, three great nieces, one great nephew and one brand new great great niece.

The Class of 1960 has always been a close-knit group and I look forward to being with them in July.
